Guys who wear pinky rings and play 72o

Last nights live $55 MTT Donkaments

I’m in the BB with a 30,000 stack. 600/1200/100 level. Pot = 2800. 72o jacktard with a 18000 stack open min raises to 2400 from MP, it’s folded around to me. 1200 to call/5200 in pot - 4.3:1 pot odds. I call with Q8o. Jacktard is new to the table and I’ve never seen him before. 60ish Naples guy with a cheesy gold watch and a pinky ring. Usually means he has money but can’t play poker worth shit. Flop is 326rainbow. I check, jack fires 6000 into a 6400 pot. I muck and jack says, I’ll gotta show baby!”

I say well-played, you still had me beat on the flop. He’s clearly advertising, but with his attitude I start to jab at him and tell him only a fish like you would run that play at this level and that your ego will get you in trouble. He sensed that I was pissed and shut up. I know, don’t scare the fish away, but I can’t stand guys with pinky rings.

After getting cold decked and blinded down over the next orbit or so, I lost a hand to a lag who was shoving preflop 5 times in a row. I called his aipf shove of 4800 with JT and lost to TT. That left me with 500 at the 800/1600/200 level. I won the side pot in the next hand for 4500. In the next hand, Jacktard shoves aipf UTG with 66hc. I find AAds on the button and call. I was calling blind anyway.

Board runs QTK 8 6 and I’m out in 38th place. I know the jacktard won’t see this, but you really played 72o and 66 very well—mad skillz there, winner! You ran well against me in the 2 hands we clashed, but hardly played well. I hope you continue to think you’re a player and we see each other many more times in the weeks to come.
